Now, back to our 'story', we had to stop off at our favorite Zippy's in Kapolei. If you've ever been to Oahu, you might not have gone to the western area of the island. We lived in this new development city/town. While there, Zippy's was one of 'treats'. There's just something different in a 'locals' eatery. The first thing you see many families with multi-generational members all together celebrating life. There is noise. Not a loud obnoxious noise, but the noise of people sharing... chatting... just being themselves. It's so 'laid back'. It makes you feel a part of something bigger... in Hawaii we call it the 'OHANA'.
Over all our day was packed full of the things we love so much... traveling, riding the bus (we even saw people & drivers that we remembered) the smells, the sights, the tastes of Hawaii!!! It really does feel that we never left (it was 2 years ago when we moved to Bellingham). What a nice welcome back!!
OHHHHHH once more thing.... the University of Hawaii went undefeated this year and is going to the SUGAR BOWL!!!!!! We are so excited for them and it's fun being here where the talk and the news is centered around something positive :)
